You approach an unmarked road to find... The Blog

Introductions

March 2025

Once upon a time there was a blog, on a neocities website, and that blog had a Creator. But the Creator of this blog had ADHD and like 938945684 hobbies and a full-time job and was living through historically significant times and then suddenly the blog grew dust and cobwebs. But then! Then the Creator remembered the blog existed and finally had an epiphany on what to post here so anyway the blog is back on the menu.... maybe.

I plan on using this space, now, to cover pieces of art that I have observed or interacted with or even analyzed for upcoming chapters. I want to reflect on these things and share the joy in consuming art with anyone who spends a second to read these posts. So I am working, as well, on making the blog itself better but also I'm not worrying about it being perfect. I just want it to hold the thoughts I have. I recently looked at Anne Rice's old blog and - no disrespect - but it made me feel better about how not-quite-done this space looks. I'm going to make an attempt at some kind of form for these posts, at least the ones that are not reviews or summaries. I'm stealing the Reading, Eating, Playing, Obsessing, Recommending, and Treating (REPORT) from Tiktok and instead writing the REPORT: Reading, Enjoying, Playing, Observing, Recommending, and Trying. So here is my REPORT for March so far!

Reading: The Sookie Stackhouse Novels

This novel series is one I last read in high school. Recently I was craving a good comfort read that I could sink into and read casually. Instead, I forgot how much I love these books and I have read 7 of them in less than a month! I just love how Charlaine Harris captures both Southern life and the thought exercise of modern vampires. It's so fun!

Enjoying: The Library

I have been seriously leaning into my local library lately. I recently got on Libby for my first time really (I only used Overdrive before) and oh my god! This is such an amazing place. It also helps I live really close to one of the branches and I can just walk over on a nice day, look through the books, and give something a try. This is far from news but man I just love the library.

Playing: Kingdome Come Deliverance II

Now this is not one I thought I'd be writing about! I never played the first one but someone I follow on Tumblr would not stop talking about how amazing this game was and how worth even just a glance it was. Then I looked up some clips and I was awestruck. I love Henry I think he is such a funny little character and I love just exploring the space of the world. Ah! It's so amazing!

Observing: Killing Eve

I don't watch a lot of television really ever but I have been using my library card to check out Killing Eve. We are currently on the final season which I hear isn't stellar but overall I have enjoyed this show a lot lately!

Recommending: Berkeley Repertory Theatre

Man oh man. Lately I have been making the trek to Berkeley to attend plays at this playhouse. And I have been absolutely blown away by the direction, styling, writing, and acting talent at this place! If you are ever nearby please go see a show. I'll have much more to write about my recent viewings but for now it's my top recommendation.

Trying: Less Social Media

I have spent the last few weeks really limiting my social media time. It has been helping me a lot already but it is something I am continuing to try. I have deleted almost all social media apps from my phone and made is a concious choice to log on on my computer whenever I want to use it. This limits not only the types of places I visit but the frequency as it is more of an effort. I feel a lot better already and I think it is helping my anxiety a lot.

And that's my REPORT for now! Stay tuned as I will soon by posting my reviews of recent plays I have been watching. And in a couple weeks I'll be seeing a Frankenstein ballet so that will be a good share as well.
